FROM THE LABEL: "Redhook likes a little air nip in the air."

Notes from beeradvocateRegardless of whether you spend your winter months on the slopes, shoveling your driveway or just hiding out, Redhook Winterhook is a great way to chase off the winter chill. This year will be our 27th consecutive release of Winterhook. The recipe changes slightly every winter because nobody likes getting the exact same Holiday present year after year. Redhook’s 27th brew of Winterhook has roasted chocolate notes that smooth out the quick, spicy hop finish. The rich body and nutty, malty backbone make this winter ale slighty naughty and very nice.

FROM THE MOUTH: WINTER ALE: The above is about #27 and this is #28, strange that they would change the recipe each Holiday, but perhaps it is supposed to be a gift and we never know what is inside.... Pours a  lovely deep amber color-always a suprise when you  have a new beer in a dark bottle and label and don't know what is going to pour out, nice carbonation. Taste is funky but not unpleasant funky. We have an IPA swing going but a bit watered down, very piney almost sappy with a dry tangy finish. Gets better as it warms up a bit. Nice Winter ale; I will have this again. A
