FROM THE MOUTH: PUMPKIN ALE: The label has it just about right- more like a pumpkin pie without the high sugar (could have used more slapped into a bottle, it is a bit heavy on the spices. As pumpkin ales go it was not bad. I had it in honor of my favorite holiday..so cheers to THE GREAT PUMPKIN! B+

FROM THE MOUTH: IMPERIAL STOUT: Pours a thick coffee black with a lacey cream foam. Aroma is coffee and toffee. Taste is really sweet with coffee, toffee, chocolate and more sweet. I would say intense sweet coffee/chocolate/licorice. It took awhile to enjoy it- perhaps when it warmed up and the alcohol took effect it got better. I really enjoy a good stout but this was on the too sweet side. B-

This beer name is an alias of Lazy Magnolia Reb Ale

FROM THE MOUTH: AMERICAN PALE ALE: Pours out a light peach with a nice foam head. Forgot to smell it- it is Monday and by the end of Monday I just drink the beer. Has an interesting taste. Couldn't identify what spice it was- burnt pecans, but whatever it was it just reminded me of the south. Toffee caramel front with that spice bite and  then dry hop bitterness. Like I said, interesting beer. I will have it again just to figure out what I am really tasting. Not bad for a beer club beer. B+

FROM THE MOUTH: ENGLISH BITTER: This is an amber colored beer with a fluffy thick foam. Aroma is ..TOFFEE with slight piney hops. Taste is a toffee malt forward with a hop back. First impression:  clean and crisp and straight forward: toffee malt citrus and pine notes.  Very nicely blended and enjoyable to drink. Certainly a bitter ending - but it is coated by the toffee....nice. A+

PENNSYLVANIA ALLEGHENY PALE ALE

FROM THE LABEL: "American Pale Ale brewed with barley, malt, chinook, columbus and perles hops."

FROM "THE FROSTED MUG': This pale ale is the brewery's first American -style ale. They started by using their international pale ale, Europils and Caramel malts , and balanced the flavor with three distinct hop varieties to create a unique amber ale."

FROM THE MOUTH: AMERICAN PALE ALE: Pours a straw amber. Aroma of orange/lemon/bread. Taste is thin/piney/bitter. I actually liked the first few sips but as it warmed it became an uncomfortable dry bitter pine failure. The test of a good beer is when it no longer has the freeze of the fridge numbing the tongue. I would have liked to taste a bit more caramel malt to offset the twang of dry-bitter- musty- pine. C+

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTIONHop Harvest Edition was brewed in September of 2008 using 200 lbs of fresh Treasure Valley Chinook hop flowers from the John Wilmunster hop farm in Greenleaf, ID. Leafer Madness Imperial Pale Ale - 2008 Hop Harvest Edition has a green bottle cap and is hand stamped with "2008 Hop Harvest Edition" on the right side of the label.

FROM THE MOUTH: IMPERIAL/DOUBLE IPA: Nice presentation -  cloudy straw with a one finger head- sorry no picture because I drank it right away! WOW at 100 + IBU this is rock and roll IPA for any hop head. It picks you up and never lets you down. Strong presence of grapefruit- which is that citrus bitterness you're tasting. There's just enough mild caramel malt to blend  this into a smooth  dry very drinkable beer. Love it. A+

This was taken with an original digital camera that I bought some 15 or so years ago. I couldn't remember how to do a close up so no label picture this time. On to the beer...this beer has made me a new fan of Widmer Seasonal ales. I understand they come out with a new one every few months so now I anticipate the unveiling of said beer. This is just a good solid beer, well blended- a fine amount of bitter hops to a sweet caramel malt and top it off with a bit of a warm spicy alcohol. I am going all out and saying this is an excellent beer. A+

American Blonde Ale

Description:
More or less a creation from the craft-brewery movement, and also reminiscent of the German style Kölsch. Pale straw to deep gold for color. Usually an all malt brew, well attenuated with a lightly malty palate. Most have a subdued fruitiness. Hop character is of the noble variety, or similar, leaving a light to medium bitterness. A balanced beer, light bodied and sometimes lager like.

FROM THE MOUTH: AMERICAN BLONDE ALE: Beautiful pouring beer. Pretty average over all. Taste is malty upfront, maybe apricot or peach that slides quickly to a nice hop bitterness with a spicy pepper finish. Nothing very memorable as I  am not typically a fan of Blonde Ales, but this was refreshing and drinkable. B+

BBB Grand Teton Brewing Co., 430 Old Jackson Hole Hwy. Victor, ID 83455

Notes from the beer advocate: Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is an unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. Brewed with a hearty amount of wheat, this Weissbier pours a light clouded golden color with a generous head. Gently hopped to balance the malt sweetness, Howling Wolf’s flavors and aromas are subtle with a hint of fruit and spice. At 5% alcohol by volume, this light-bodied ale is a refreshing session beer for any time of year.

FROM THE MOUTH: HEFEWEIZEN: Not too often the description found is actually what you taste but the beer advocate nails this- I would add raisin/plum and a whiff of booze. Love the label. Certainly refreshing and easy to drink. I will have this again. A

FROM THE LABEL: "Tumbler is our take on the classic brown ale- full of roasted malt flavor but delicate on the palate, and perfect for crisp fall days. Layered with notes of chocolate, toasted bread and a hint of smoke, Tumbler is the ultimate autumn beer. Top label:  Tumbler Autumn Brown Ale features roasted malt used straight from the kiln to give it a gracefully smooth malt character that is perfect for an autumn afternoon."

FROM THE MOUTH: AMERICAN BROWN ALE: Aroma is coffee /caramel malt. Taste is smokin chewy with notes of chocolate, roasted malt and espresso- mostly espresso. I like their idea of an autumn afternoon sipping this beer watching the leaves blow across the fields- I can do that. I like this beer well enough to buy it again, nice representation of a ABA. FROM THE MOUTH: DUNKELWEIZEN: What a coincidence- this beer tastes a lot like the beer I made. I took one of the beers I brewed and opened it ( they tell you to try one every few weeks to test taste, foam, carbonation), the taste was very similiar to this beer although perhaps not as sweet. Most noticeable is the belgian yeast but this beer starts out on the nutty malt side and like mine has a nice mild hop presence.  It won't knock your socks off ( like my beer) but it is a nice mellow decent beer.
