FROM 'THE MICROBREW REVIEW': "Slane's Irish Style Red Ale is the latest offering from Diamond Knot and will only be brewed for a few months. It blends the best of Irish tradition with the boldness of West Coast style. "The challenge was designing a beer that balances the complex malty sweetness, while still letting the Pacific Northwest hops shine through. We think we've come up with something that our customers really look forward to year after year." said Brewmaster Pat Ringe. Slane's is deep red in color with a sweet caramelly aroma, complex malt flavors and a very subtle smokiness at the end with a crisp, hoppy finish. Pair with chicken, seafood, burgers, tangy cheese, and poached pears. ABV: 6.7%."

FROM THE MOUTH: This is REALLY delicious and I am so proud of myself for identifying the 'smokiness' before I read about it! There is a cedary hop taste in the end- that must be that crisp hoppy finish they talk about. A beautiful blend of sweet malt to bitter hop, very smooth. A+ Go Irish!

FROM THE GRILL: See above suggestions

FROM THE STORE: This was a birthday gift from my Father, John Kennedy. He enrolled me in a monthly beer club www.microbeerclub.com so we will be enjoying some fabulous Pacific beers coming up! Thanks Dad, I love you.
