They have a lot to say about their beer: "Anchor Steam Brand beer derives its name from the 19th century when "steam" seems to have been the nickname for beer brewed on the west coast of America under primitive conditions and without ice. The word "steam" may have referred to the pressure of natural carbonation developing in the beers. Today the brewing methods of those days are a mystery and for many decades Anchor alone has used the quaint name "Steam" for its unique beer.
Anchor Steam brand beer is virtually handmade with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. The deep amber color, the thick creamy head and the rich flavor all testify to our traditional brewing methods.
Today Anchor is one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world. San Francisco's famous brand beer is unique, for our brewing process has evolved many decades and is like no other beer in the world." They had a lot to say about their beer!!!!
The pictures will show that I am drinking this beer in a pub, The Old Town Pub- OTP, located in Steamboat Springs Colorado. Great food, great music and great beers. Ask for Chris, our talented and gracious waiter, for a table and leave the rest to him.
As you can see by the pour, this is a light reddish beer with a soft head of foam that goes down WAY to easily! I would say it is a mild beer but has a surprising bold malt flavor.

Dave Thomas from Dallas Texas was jamming on his guitar at OTP. check him out on utube.... www.wal-martians.wmv.flv

The quote today is his:
"You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning."
