EIGHT- BALL STOUT

175 BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE WALL

July 8, 2012 (Monday)
EIGHT-BALL STOUT
TWELVE FL. OZ., 6.3% ABV ( not on label)
Loast Coast Brewery & Cafe
617 4th St.. Eureka, California
+++

FROM THE LABEL: " This rich, robust stout is made with Pale Malted Barley, Oatmeal Roasted and Chocolate Malts, Pacific Northwest Hops, crystal clear mountain water and Ale Yeast."

FROM THE MOUTH : OATMEAL STOUT: A nice solid stout, if not a bit on the mild side. Begins with a nice chocolate/coffee malt flavor which takes you into a smokey -what I like to call 'licking the bottom of a log" ending.  It's a good stout, but I can't call it great, not when it does nothing to distinguish itself. It is a bit on the mild side so it is easy drinking- not filling. B+

FROM THE STORE:  Huckleberry's
