FROM THE MOUTH: AMERICAN DOUBLE/IMPERIAL IPA: Outstanding label- top five so far this year.Why no artist mentioned- not right! Aroma fills the nose with fruity hops and some floral. Taste is a bit over the top... purse your mouth ...malt sweet, which may have been ok IF you could actually taste the 89 IBU's- which you can't. Nice enough freshness with the citrus buzz and a warm alcohol lingers on the tongue, but the grapefruit hangs a  bit too long. Probably won't pick up another but it good enough to get the weekend started.  B+

FROM THE MOUTH : BELGIAN IPA: Aroma- Malts, hops, lemons, grapefruit and spice.

Taste follow nose on this one with the addition of a wee bit of chewy yeast, belgian style. Ending is a bit dry and stale. I do not think IPA when I drink this:  I think Lager with an attitude. I wasn't feeling it for this beer, but love the label!  No backbone- a bit drab. B-

FROM THE LABEL: What a great label- come on - these guys are having too much fun!!!!

 

FROM THE MOUTH: WINTER WARMER: I have never been disappointed in a beer coming from Dick's brewery and this is a Winter Warmer at it's finest. I have to be honest..I picked this beer because it had a high ABV and I had a stressful day so I DID NOT SMELL IT FIRST BEFORE I DRANK IT. Taste is caramel malt front on the old buds with a lovely resiny hop back. I needed another one; I want to be that guy on the label heading full speed down a mountain of powder and ...heck, I can't ski.  I have developed an affinity for winter warmers and this is my new favorite.  very tasty! A++

FROM THE MOUTH: PORTER: Look closely at the mountain on the label...is that Bob Marley? Haha, great art work- green, yellow and red , yup that is Marley. Wish the beer was as clever. It does improve as it sits, so give it a good 20 minutes before you pour. Aroma is weak coke/coffee. Taste is the same but the finish is a mild chocolate. This is missing some backbone, but like I said give it a sit before you pour. Just not feeling it for this one. B+

FROM THE MOUTH: AMERICAN AMBER/ RED ALE: Gorgeous pour... loved this one from the start and was disappointed when it was over- well, that's not knew! Toffee/butterscotch malt front then they float in some citrus, call up those hops and end with a warm glow of alcohol. It is a smooth blend of malt, hops and booze. I like these winter warmers --- this will be something I miss when the summer beers come around.

Not a complex beer, easy sipping and very enjoyable. I will look for this in a chugger. A+

FROM THE MOUTH: AMERICAN IPA: Sort of a flat pour, but the second glass had a great foam. Second glass also tasted better than the first- alcohol must have been kicking in. Aroma was acidic, that must be the grapefruit, and pine. Taste is bold, pounces on you then kicks back. Sort of what a slap feels like- you get the sting of hops/grapefruit and alcohol all at once then you sit back a bit stunned. Not for the faint lager drinker but for the 'bould'er crowd. A+

FROM THE MOUTH: AMERICAN IPA: I am in love with this beer starting with the crisp clean design of the label- love the black frame around the geometric old schoolhouse nesting in the mountains. Aroma/Taste - some one was playing with a pine cone in the schoolhouse and they had a fight with some citrus. Noone won ... they shook hands in the end and although it was intense it was clean and balanced. Some would say the hops won! An easy sipping beer and I wish I had bought a few more while they were on sale- damn. A+
