My first experience with a 'double' beer and when they say hefty they mean it. I passed the beer around for comment from my fellow 'swigs' followers and this is what they said: " very very smooth", " fills you whole mouth with flavor", "double dense", " lays in your whole mouth", "a heavy bold beer", "yeasty." I am going to go with 'heavy bold smooth."
Hercules was the illegitimate son of Jupiter and Alcmene ( the wisest and most beautiful of mortal woman). He was placed by enraged jealous Juno to feed at her breast and because of this.. legend has it he became partially immortal, thus allowing him to surpass all mortal men in strength, size and skill.
Wise choice for the name of this beer for one must be Herculean to finish it~
We found this bottled beer at a fantastic new Irish restaurant in Steamboat Springs Colorado. Stop by for a pint of some of the best drafts in town and don't miss the Beef Barley soup and the Cod and Chips- outstanding!
