FROM THE LABEL: "Dark, Fierce and Blustery. Across the cold and blackish waters of the Baltic, the English porter was transformed from a mild ale to a dark and complex lager that confounds definition. Immersed in dark, roasted malts and bold citrus hop character, these big contrasting flavors are brought together with the smoothness of a lager for a brew that's bold, mysterious, and full of flavor. At Samuel Adams we love experimenting. This series of limited edition brews represents some of our favorite small batch creations. Hops: SAAZ, NOBLEHOPS, ZEUS, AHTANUM, SIMCOE. Brewed with lager yeast. Malts: Two-Row Harrington, Metcalfe and Copeland pale malts, Carafa I, Caramel 60 and Munich." ( I may have these spelled wrong. I can't see for sure because the writing is wiggly.)
FROM THE MOUTH: BALTIC PORTER: This tastes like a Porter,so why the IPA title? : Very smooth, full bodied, roasty, very sweet, burnt
sugar, toffee, hop bitterness, charred peat/log licking finish. It started off well but it got too sweet for me and I just couldn't drink anymore. B
FROM THE STORE: Martins supermarket in South Bend, Indiana
Can you smile for us Peggy!
drink yer' beer
