PENNSYLVANIA ALLEGHENY PALE ALE
12 FL. OZ.
Pennsylvania Brewing Company, Pittsburgh, PA
++1/2

FROM THE LABEL: "American Pale Ale brewed with barley, malt, chinook, columbus and perles hops."

FROM "THE FROSTED MUG': This pale ale is the brewery's first American -style ale. They started by using their international pale ale, Europils and Caramel malts , and balanced the flavor with three distinct hop varieties to create a unique amber ale."

FROM THE MOUTH: AMERICAN PALE ALE: Pours a straw amber. Aroma of orange/lemon/bread. Taste is thin/piney/bitter. I actually liked the first few sips but as it warmed it became an uncomfortable dry bitter pine failure. The test of a good beer is when it no longer has the freeze of the fridge numbing the tongue. I would have liked to taste a bit more caramel malt to offset the twang of dry-bitter- musty- pine. C+
