FROM THE LABEL: "THE CELEBRATED OATMEAL STOUT. an opaque, wonderfully silky and smooth textured ale with a complex, medium dry palate and bittersweet finish. Brewed with well water ( the original well sunk in 1758 is still in use ), malted barley, roasted barley, oatmeal, yeast and hops, Fermented in open-topped 'stone Yorkshire squares'. Celebrated Oatmeal Stout is a style benchmark revived by Samuel Smith's and the inspiration for hundreds of commercial oatmeal stouts. Samuel Smith's brews at a small, traditional british brewery, the oldest brewery in Yorkshire. Product of England."

FROM THE MOUTH: OATMEAL STOUT: Beautiful smooth mild stout.I am always impressed with Samuel Smith Brewery. Note: Anna Norquist also had a swig and her comment was, "tastes like A1 sauce or soy sauce. OK, now that she suggested that I am thinking I taste it too, I don't but I can sort of smell it so perhaps this would be  good beer to have with a steak! A
