FROM THE LABEL:" Our version of the traditional German Kolsch* style is fragrant and complex, the Alsation hop we chose imparts a subtle citrus note, Jasmine Sambac, a mighty blooming southeast Asian flower adds a delicate floral aroma and a flavor to this layered and refreshing brew. Cheers! A Kolsch style beer, aged with south east Asian jasmine Sambac Flowers."

*Kölsch (also spelled Koelsch) is a local beer specialty that is brewed in Cologne, Germany. It is a clear beer with a bright, straw-yellow hue, and has a prominent, but not extreme, hoppiness. It is less bitter than the standard German pale lager.

FROM THE MOUTH: KOLSCH: This has a nice aroma- sweet and jasmine. It's light tasting lager that is crisp and thin with a mild floral taste, not as many hop notes as I expected, a Kolsch should have more of a hop presence and I can't taste that here.  Have not had a true Kolsch so I can't say whether it stands up to it. But this is a great summer beer, easy to drink. A-
