176 BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE WALL

July 8, 2012 (Sunday)
DOS EQUIS XX LAGER ESPECIAL
12 FL. OZ., 4.3% ABV ( not on label)
Brewed and Bottled by Cervecera Cuauhtemoc, Mucitezum, Mexico

FROM THE LABEL: "Dos Equis was created in Mexico in 1897 by a German Brew Master, who blended his brewing heritage with the spirit of the mexican traditions. Originally called SIGLO XX to celebrate the arrival of the 20th century it later became known as just Dos Equis (or simply two x's in Spanish). Dos Equis Lager Especial is a crisp and golden lager from Mexico, with just the right balance of flavor and refreshment."

FROM THE MOUTH: AMERICAN ADJUNCT LAGER: Why would anyone smell beer? I can understand smelling wine- well maybe, but really ....why do people care about how a beer smells, just drink it. And that is what you do here with this beer- it tastes heavingly on a sweltering hot  day like today while you are lounging around with your feet puddling in the doggy pool. It is a lager ( tastes like water with some 'beer' stuff in it ) folks, it goes down cool and refreshing on a summer day. A

  1. Aroma is a huge part of the perceived flavor of a beer, and gives you a good idea what you're getting into before you actually taste it. And if you're a hophead, the smell of a nicely dry-hopped IPA can be pure heaven. (Then again, with something as weak as Dos Equis, it's completely irrelevant.)
